A tennis fan says Anna Palus was defamed by Nick Kyrgios at Wimbledon this year.

The Defame:  Kyrgios said a fan "looks like she's had about 700 drinks" and accused her of being "drunk out of her mind" during the Wimbledon final defeat.

Effects:  This cause considerable harm on the day, resulting in her temporary removal from the arena

Effects:  Mr Kyrgios's false allegation was  broadcast to, and read by, millions around the world, causing her and her family very substantial damage and distress

Baseless Allegation:  Anna Palus said Kyrgios had defamed her by making "a reckless and entirely baseless allegation"

Instruction to Solicitors:  Ms Palus has instructed her solicitors to begin legal proceedings  against Kyrgios

Donate to Charity:  She said any damages she may win would be donated to  charity.

What she said: "I hope that Mr Kyrgios will reflect on the harm he has caused me and my  family and offer a prompt resolution to this matter"

What she said: "However, if he is unwilling to do this, I am committed to obtaining vindication in the High Court."
